The Academy wish to appoint a permanent, part-time Handyperson to join our hardworking, committed and friendly team. We are seeking to appoint a self-motivated, flexible and enthusiastic Handyperson to help us to keep all areas secure and tidy. The successful candidate will be reliable, trustworthy and have a flexible approach to working hours.

Working under the direction of the Principal duties include:

  • Site Safety and security, including being the primary key holder.
  • Checking the building daily, opening and closing the building in the morning and evenings at agreed times.
  • Liaising with contractors and organising works.
  • Routine repairs and maintenance work of building and grounds to a high standard
  • Undertaking some cleaning duties
  • Support proactively the letting of the school facilities
  • General portage duties
  • Carrying out PFI checks;lighting, fire alarms, water safety etc.
  • Capable of working autonomously
  • Responsive and self-motivated.

Hours of work are Monday to Friday: 6.30am – 9.00am & 4.00pm – 6.30pm.

This is a full-time Position within KS2 until 31 August 2022 in the first instance.

The Academy Committee of St. John’s Catholic Academy wish to appoint a Level 2 Classroom Assistant to work within our EYFS and Year 1.

The successful candidates should be able to demonstrate:

  • Experience in working with children in EYFS or Key stage 1.
  • Under the direction and supervision of the teacher, assist in the delivery of activities enhancing children’s social and educational development.

  • Attend to children’s personal needs including assisting children at meal time.
  • Exchange information with parents/carers.
  • Assist other staff with the assessment procedures to ensure children’s progress is satisfactory.

We are looking to employ a Supervisory Assistant (lunchtime) to join our team in the EYFS.

The hours of work will be 5.00 hours per week (12.00pm to 1.00pm) Monday to Friday, term time only. This will be a permanent contract.

The successful applicant will assist with the care and supervision of pupils at lunchtimes and must be able to relate well to children and support them in playing games and keeping active. You will also be expected to encourage children to eat healthy meals and show good manners, as well as cleaning the dining room and removing dirty dishes.
